Director Message

Prof.(Dr.) Trilochan Nayak

Director,IMB

The reason why Colombus should be appreciated is not because he discovered a " new way" to America but because he had belief in himself that the "new way "exists. So inspite of lots of challenges evolved by globalization, liberalization, information of technology and accumulation of capital, there is always a scope for new vision and new knowledge.
With the country recovering greatly from a pandemicrather recovered , this may be the opportune time to reassess the role of professional managers and the repository of skills they require to operate in a rapidly evolving world that is both complex and filled with uncertainty. The era of economic liberalization also saw a growing demand for management knowledge and education and the mushrooming of B-schools across India. From IIMs to private schools in large and tier-2 cities, we today have a little over three thousand Institutions catering to this growing demand.

Lessons learnt from global experiences over the last two years clearly indicates the need for and importance of leadership. It is the organizations and countries that had leaders who showed courage, humility, resilience, agility, adaptiveness, and the willingness to learn that managed the crisis reasonably well. Preparing the next gen of business leaders should draw inspiration from these success stories and the management curricula should be embedded with the skills ets that made this happen along with what has been taught traditionally.
We ensure to highlight potential to each individual student and prepare them to cope up with the high level of performance in the contemporary stressful corporate world. We inculcate in the students the habit of lateral and innovative thinking, reading habit, research orientation, decision making capability along with nurturing and developing physical and mental strength to sustain and excel under any situation.
We concentrate on the all round 'Holistic Development' of our students in all aspects thereby enabling them to acquire the competency to deliver efficient and effective use of knowledge in practical real life situations furthering the performance excellence of the students in the organizations they join and add value from the first day to their existing system.
Finally, I would like to conclude my message with a quotation from Swami Vivekananda's saying – "We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one's own feet".
I love working together !!!

Thank you...
